Background

When it comes to burning away the malevolent works of science fiction, the Great Priestess' apprentice goes through a tedious ceremonial, following which she sets the purifying flame of the Glibon Dashra Sakrh ablaze. So far, so good. However, now that the new girl is in charge, the vessel holding the sacred flame has reached proportions slightly too overwhelming to Eris' liking. It would seem that Hemera's boundless enthusiasm in entering her new role has led her to undertake many changes in order to improve the artifact's effectiveness. There was a time when it would have taken several attempts to destroy a dozen books by fire, whereas now the torch has every aspect of a flamethrower that turns everything to ashes within less than a minute. Outrageous! But one glimpse at the ominous glow sparkling in the girl's eyes as she lights the fire and the very idea of having the young novice lengthen the duration of the ritual becomes unthinkable.

Missions

  • Mass Purification: Block 25 damage with Hemera

Advantages & Disadvantages

Advantages:

  • Her base power is 7, which is good for a 3*.
  • Her base damage is 4, but becomes 6 with fury, allowing you to 2HKO with other members of Sakrohm.
  • Her ability decreases her opponent's damage by five.
  • The minimum for her ability is one, which is very low.
  • Her ability is Stop, which makes her a good card to use against GHEIST and Roots.
  • Her ability makes her a good bluff to use, especially against cards with SoA.
  • The clan bonus decreases her opponent's attack by eight, which helps in low-pill fights.

Disadvantages:

  • Her ability is Stop, which makes her predictable.
  • She is weak against damage reduction.
  • She is also weak against SoB, since she cannot decrease her opponent's attack.
  • She has competition from the other 3* in Sakrohm.

Trivia

  • Her name comes from the Greek deity, who was the also the personification of the day.
  • She is one of the few characters to make reference to the fact of burning science fiction books (which is a normal Sakrohm activity). This is a clear reference to the famous book, Fahrenheit 451.
  • The fact that she uses a flamethrower in her final level, and is partly based on Fahrenheit 451, might be based on the M-451 Firestorm, which is only obtainable in the Mass Effect 2 DLC: Zaeed-The Price of Revenge.
