Background

Blind since birth, Ryuichi became an orphan at the tender age of 3 when his parents died from an unusual case of food poisoning caused by a pizza that had gone off (Ryuichi has always suspected the Montana were behind it). But just like his father before him Ryuichi holds within him the power of the Jade Dragon and decides to ask the Fang Pi to help him master it.

Missions

  • Blind Fury: Inflict 100 damage with Ryuichi

Advantages and Disadvantages

Advantages:

  • His base damage is 7, which is good for a 4*.
  • His ability cancels out an opposing card's bonus, which makes fights with him a lot easier.
  • If you fury with him, while his bonus is activated and have Timber in your hand, you can 1HKO your opponent.
  • SOA doesn't really hurt him.
  • The clan bonus increases his damage by two, making him a potential 6/9.

Disadvantages:

  • His base power is 6, which is low for a 4*. He will also lose when facing higher-powered cards pill-to-pill.
  • His ability is Courage-based, meaning you only have two chances to activate it. It also makes him very predictable at times.
  • He is weak against cards with SOB, since he loses his bonus.
  • He is weak when going up against cards that reduce his damage and cancel out his bonus.
  • He is a 4*, so he takes up room in your deck.
  • He has competition from the other 4* in Fang Pi Clang.

Tactics

Trivia

  • His third and fourth level artwork are based off of the Mortal Kombat character, Kenshi, who is also blind.
  • His name means 'one dragon' in Japanese. This could refer to his ability to control the Jade Dragon.
  • His name and the fact of being blind may also be an reference to Shiryu, from Saint Seya.
